Director of Operations - Minnetonka

LOCATION: Minnetonka, MN


The Director of Operations will oversee the delivery of our products and solutions to our customers. This role is responsible for envisioning, designing, and enforcing processes that can scale, are profitable, and delight our customers.  The ideal candidate must be competent and able to plan many different kinds of operational activities. S/he must be an excellent leader who can discover the most efficient ways to run the business. The goal is to safeguard and augment the efficiency of the company’s operations and thereby fuel our near and long term growth targets.   The candidate must have: 1) proven track record (~10 years) in operations, preferably software operations, 2) analytical acumen including but not limited to financials, profitability, operational and company performance data, 3) unyielding process orientation (e.g., six sigma) as a means to deliver quality, repeatability and scale 4) insatiable need to exceed customer expectations, 5) ability to recruit, hire, and retain stellar team members.


  • Make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals
  • Plan and closely monitor the day-to-day running of business to ensure smooth progress
  • Supervise staff from different teams and provide constructive feedback
  • Evaluate on an ongoing basis the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvements
  • Oversee customer implementation and aspects of support processes and organize them to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability
  • Manage relationships/agreements with external partners/vendors
  • Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
  • Defining, implementing and revising operational policies and guidelines for the organization
  • Working with the human resources department to create job descriptions, hire competent personnel and oversee employee training programs
  • Evaluate software and other tools used by Operations in order to support the above quality, efficiency and profitability goals

  • Demonstrable knowledge in Operations is required, experience in Software Operations is preferred
  • Proficient with technology used to increase productivity including Microsoft Office and Google Suite

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience working in an operations role and five years’ experience in a management or leadership capacity
  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, management or a related field.  MBA preferred
  • Equivalent experience + education will be considered
  • Has managed relationships/agreements with eternal partners/vendors
  • Proven success with innovation to increase productivity and profitability
  • Has experience with and a solid understanding of different business functions (supply chain, customer service, finance, etc.)
  • Professional certifications in personnel management, operations management, data analysis or supply chain management desirable
